Zinc EDTA plays a crucial role in various biological processes, including chlorophyll formation, photosynthesis, and metabolic and energy processes. This is due to its active ingredient, zinc. Zinc acts as an activator for oxidizing enzymes and is essential for the synthesis of important growth hormones. In cases of zinc deficiencies, Zinc EDTA can be used to rectify the issue effectively .One of the advantages of Zinc EDTA is that it is in chelated form. This not only allows for optimal utilization of zinc but also ensures that the zinc is readily available to the plant without being fixed in the soil. As a result, it enhances the efficiency of NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium) applied to the soil.
